In line with its efforts to secure Sharia-compliant financing, Silphium Pharmaceutical Industries Company has issued Islamic Mudarabah sukuk as an investment tool to participate in financing its production and expansion projects. Foremost among these is the project to localize the manufacturing of intravenous solutions, medicines, and medical preparations in Libya.

Mudarabah Sukuk represent shares in the capital of a project that is operated under a Mudarabah contract. In this arrangement, investors provide the capital, and the company (the Mudarib) undertakes the management and operation. Profits are shared according to a pre-agreed ratio, while losses – if they occur – are borne solely by the capital, unless there is negligence or misconduct.

Subscription to these Sukuk is available to banks, companies, and individuals, in accordance with the stipulated terms and conditions outlined in the prospectus approved by the Libyan Dar al-Ifta. The offering will be conducted under the supervision of the Libyan Capital Market Authority and the relevant regulatory bodies to ensure the protection of investors’ rights.
